Dialogue and nuance at the heart of an identity.

The Human Library is an international, not for profit learning platform that creates safe space for dialogue between human Books and their readers around often-stigmatised topics. The organisation hosts events virtually and physically (i.e. libraries, festivals, schools) for the public and the private sector, having published Books in over 85 countries.

Beginning as a speculative rebrand, the process sparked a conversation between myself and the Human Library's founder, Ronni Abergel.

“Rather than seeing things in black and white, I want people to build perspective and see the greys.”

During our conversation, this was a key statement from the founder that drove the identity’s development. The direction explores shades greys in their hues, where the gradients also serve to add a dynamic layer to the system that mirrors soundwaves.
